Project
A wraparound cover for Robert W. Chambers’ 1895 collection — the play within the book that drives its readers mad.
The cover sits at the moment just before the play is opened. The front shows Carcosa from the outside — the ruined towers, the figure of the King watching from above. The back is gold and empty: the page before the reader looks down.
Worked entirely in two colours — a metallic mustard and a near-black — to suggest the texture of a real century-old cloth-bound printing.
