Project
A robed rider crossing a forest of bone and twisted trees — watched, from the side, by a figure who has chosen to stay.
The image plays with the idea of two characters at the same moment in their respective stories: the rider, anonymous under the cowl, carrying their own light into the wood; and the woman at the right, who has chosen the daylight side, who has hesitated.
The colour blocks are kept flat and graphic, with the linework doing the storytelling — a deliberate reference to early 20th-century woodcut Illustration.
Process
Thumbnailing — Initial ideation and composition planning.
Tight Sketch — Refining the anatomy, details, and linework.
Value Comps — Establishing the lighting and focal points.
Color Comps — Exploring mood, palette, and atmosphere.
